D2X Macro Calculator & Meal Planner
Terms of Service
Effective September 14, 2026 · Published by D2X Enterprises LLC
This Terms of Service applies to the D2X Macro Calculator & Meal Planner mobile app for iOS and Android.
Read this in another language
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and D2X Enterprises LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your use of the Macro Calculator app (“the App”).
PLEASE READ SECTION 7 (HEALTH AND SAFETY), SECTION 8 (NUTRITION DATA), SECTION 9 (DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES) AND SECTION 10 (LIMITATION OF LIABILITY). They affect your legal rights and they describe real risks.
By downloading, accessing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You confirm that you are at least 18 years old and can form a binding contract where you live. The App is a calorie and macronutrient log built around a daily target that you set for yourself, and every safety figure in it is a general ADULT figure. It is not designed or appropriate for children, and it must not be used by or for a child.
2. Licence and Acceptable Use
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own personal nutrition tracking, subject to these Terms and to the terms of the app store you obtained it from.
You agree not to:
- use the App unlawfully, or in violation of any applicable law;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the App’s source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
- resell, sublicense, rent or commercially exploit the App or its bundled data set as a data product;
- present the App’s output to another person as professional dietary, medical or clinical advice.
3. Your Data Is Yours, and It Is On Your Device
The App works entirely on your device. It has no account and no cloud storage in this version. Your profile, your target, your food log and your custom foods are stored only on your device.
Consequences you should understand before you rely on the App:
- If your device is lost, reset, damaged or replaced, or if you uninstall the App, your data is gone. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.
- Use Settings → Export to keep your own copy. An export covers your food log — logged days and planned days — and nothing else; it does not include your profile or your custom foods, so those are not restored by an import. Where you then store an exported file, and who can read it, is your responsibility.
- Importing a backup REPLACES the log on your device with the contents of the file.
4. Pro Unlock
The App offers a single optional in-app purchase, the “Pro” unlock, for $2.99 USD or the local equivalent. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The price actually shown to you by the app store at the time of purchase is the price that governs.
What the free version does, in full: the whole bundled food catalogue with all of its figures, unlimited logging, reading back any day you have ever logged however old, correcting the day you are currently in, entering your own calorie target and your own macro percentages, every reference figure and every safety warning, a trends chart covering the last 3 days, planning today plus the next 2 days, and JSON export and import.
What Pro adds, and all it adds: correcting days that have already passed; charting your full history rather than the last 3 days; planning any date up to a year ahead rather than only the next 2 days; the two daily reminders; and CSV export.
NOTHING THAT KEEPS YOU SAFE IS BEHIND THE PURCHASE. The calorie minimum and its on-screen notice, the macronutrient range warnings, the reference-intake warnings and every disclaimer are available at every tier, free.
Payment is taken and processed by the applicable app store, which is the merchant of record; delivery and restoration of the unlock are handled through RevenueCat, as described in our Privacy Policy. Billing, receipts, cancellations and refunds are governed by that app store’s policies — direct refund requests to the store. Nothing here affects any statutory right of withdrawal, cancellation or refund you may have under the consumer law of your country (see Section 13).
Prices may change, but only prospectively; a change never affects a purchase you have already made.
5. Features That Are Not In This Version
What you buy is what the App does today, as described in Section 4. We make no commitment to add any feature, and nothing said anywhere about possible future features is part of what you buy. Do not purchase in reliance on a feature that is not currently in the App.
6. Availability and Changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. We may end your licence if you materially breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it.
7. HEALTH AND SAFETY — PLEASE READ THIS SECTION
7.1 THE APP IS INFORMATION, NOT ADVICE. Nothing in the App — no figure, no target, no reference range, no warning and no reminder — is medical, nutritional, dietetic, clinical, fitness or other professional advice, a diagnosis, a treatment, a prescription, a meal plan or a recommendation to eat, or not eat, anything. The App is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, monitor or alleviate any disease, condition, injury or disability, and it does not tell you what any number in it means about your health.
This applies to every subject the App touches: nutrition and what you eat; dieting, calorie intake and macronutrient composition; body weight, weight loss, weight gain and body composition; physical activity and training; and any health outcome whatever. The App contains NO exercise or training programme and gives no exercise advice — it asks for an activity level only as an input to a published federal calorie reference table, and does nothing else with it.
We are not your doctor, dietitian, nutritionist, trainer or coach. Using the App, and any contact you have with us about it, creates no doctor-patient, practitioner-client or other professional relationship of any kind. Decisions about your diet and your health belong with you and a qualified professional who knows your circumstances, and the App is not a substitute for either.
7.2 The App calculates no target for you and sets no goal. You choose your own daily calorie total and your own macro percentages. The App does three things with them: it multiplies the percentages by the total to produce gram amounts, it shows published federal reference figures alongside them as context, and it refuses to save a total below the minimum described in 7.3. It does not estimate your energy expenditure, it does not apply a deficit or a surplus, and it offers no ready-made split to choose from — those figures had no official source, so they were removed rather than invented.
When you first open the plan screen the calorie box is pre-filled with the federal reference estimate for the age, sex and activity level you entered. THAT IS A PUBLISHED AVERAGE, NOT A FIGURE FOR YOU. It is computed from reference heights and weights that are almost certainly not yours, and the App does not ask for either. Replace it with your own number; it is a starting point in a text box, not a recommendation.
The App knows only what you type into it. It does not know your body composition, metabolism, medical history, medication, pregnancy status, training load, injuries, digestion, sleep, or anything a professional would assess before advising you. A daily target is displayed as a single confident-looking number with progress rings around it; that presentation is a design convenience, not a prescription, not a diagnosis and not a promise. Do not treat a number in this App as an instruction.
7.3 The limits this App applies, and what they are based on. The App is built so that it will not carry a target below a United States federal safety minimum, and does not present a macronutrient split outside federal guidance without saying so. Specifically:
- A minimum daily calorie total. The App will not save or display a daily target below 1,500 calories for men or 1,200 calories for women. This follows the NIH / NHLBI Practical Guide, which directs that “diets containing 1,000 to 1,200 kcal/day should be selected for most women; a diet between 1,200 kcal/day and 1,600 kcal/day should be chosen for men”, and which states that very-low- calorie diets (under 800 kcal/day) “are to be avoided” and “should not be used routinely, especially not by providers untrained in their use”. We sit at or above the top of the women’s range and inside the men’s deliberately, because those figures describe a clinically supervised programme and this App supervises nobody.
- Macronutrient ranges. The Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Ranges published in the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025 are, for adults aged 19 and over, carbohydrate 45-65%, fat 20-35% and protein 10-35% of total energy; for ages 14-18, which includes an eligible 18-year-old user, protein is 10-30% and fat is 25-35%. Where the percentages you enter fall outside the ranges for your age, the App tells you which macronutrients are outside and against what.
- Reference intakes in grams. The App also compares the gram amounts your split produces against the federal recommended intakes for protein (46 g a day for women; 52 g at age 18 and 56 g from 19 for men) and for carbohydrate (130 g a day for adults), and warns you when your figures fall short. These are separate from the ranges above and are the binding constraint at a low calorie target: a split can sit inside the percentage ranges and still leave you under them.
When the minimum holds your target up, the App says so on screen rather than silently substituting a different number. If you see that message, your own figures worked out lower than the minimum, and that is a reason to speak to a doctor or a registered dietitian rather than a reason to eat less.
These bounds are guardrails against the App’s own arithmetic. THEY ARE NOT A FINDING THAT A TARGET IS SAFE FOR YOU. A number above the minimum can still be wrong for you, and no limit in software substitutes for professional assessment.
7.4 The limits are general adult figures, and they do not fit everyone. The minimum, the macronutrient ranges and the reference intakes in 7.3 are published for generally healthy adults. THEY DO NOT APPLY to children or adolescents, to pregnancy, or to breastfeeding, and they may not be appropriate for older adults, for people with a medical condition, or for athletes in heavy training. The federal calorie estimates the App displays expressly exclude women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
THE APP HAS NO INPUT FOR ANY OF THIS. It does not ask whether you are pregnant, whether you are breastfeeding, or whether you have any medical condition, and it does not verify your age. It cannot detect that its general adult figures are the wrong figures for you, and it will apply them anyway. Energy and nutrient needs in pregnancy and lactation are higher than the adult figures the App uses, and children’s needs are different again. If any of these describe you, do not set a target in this App without a qualified professional.
7.5 Percentages outside federal guidance. You may enter any percentages you like, including a very low carbohydrate or ketogenic pattern, and the App will let you save them once it has told you they are outside the published ranges. That is your decision, made with notice, and you accept the consequences of it. Intakes outside those ranges are associated with an increased risk of insufficient intake of essential nutrients and/or of chronic disease. Discuss such a diet with a qualified professional, particularly if you have any medical condition. Entering your own percentages is a free feature; nothing about this is sold to you.
7.6 Do not use the App without professional supervision if any of these apply to you. Consult a qualified physician or registered dietitian before you use it, and before you start, change or stop any diet or weight programme, if you:
- are pregnant, may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding;
- are under 18, or are supervising anyone who is;
- have, or have ever had, an eating disorder, disordered eating, or a difficult relationship with food, calorie counting or your weight;
- have diabetes, or any endocrine, cardiovascular, renal, hepatic, metabolic, gastrointestinal or malabsorptive condition;
- take medication whose dose, timing or effect depends on what or when you eat;
- are recovering from illness, surgery or injury, are an older adult, or are under- or over-weight to a degree that concerns you or your doctor;
- are training at a competitive or high volume.
7.7 Eating disorders. Calorie counting, macro targets and daily progress displays are known to trigger, sustain and worsen disordered eating in people who are vulnerable to it. This App does those things, and its optional daily reminders prompt you to return to the numbers twice a day. The minimum in 7.3 stops the App from carrying a starvation target; it cannot stop anyone from eating less than it shows, and it is not protection or treatment. If tracking food, hitting a target or seeing a number makes you anxious, or if you find yourself eating below what the App shows in order to do better, please stop using it and talk to a doctor or a qualified support service in your country.
7.8 Not for clinical use. The App must not be used to count carbohydrates for insulin dosing, to manage a therapeutic or medically prescribed diet, to plan nutrition for a patient or client, or for any purpose where an inaccurate figure could affect medical treatment. Its figures are not accurate enough for that and are not intended for it.
7.9 Assumption of risk. You alone decide what to eat, how much, and whether to follow anything the App shows you. You use the App and rely on its output at your own risk, and you accept responsibility for those decisions. If something feels wrong - light-headedness, weakness, unusual fatigue, or anything that worries you - stop and get medical advice. Nothing in this section limits Section 10.1.
7.10 Sources. Every figure in this section comes from a United States government publication. The App uses no private or commercial nutrition standard. As retrieved on 9 September 2026:
- NIH / National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, “The Practical Guide: Identification, Evaluation, and Treatment of Overweight and Obesity in Adults”, NIH Publication 00-4084 - https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/files/docs/guidelines/prctgd_c.pdf
- Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025 (USDA and HHS) - Appendix 2, estimated calorie needs by age, sex and physical activity level, and the activity level definitions; and Appendix 1, “Nutritional Goals for Age-Sex Groups”, giving the Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Ranges and the recommended intakes for protein and carbohydrate - https://www.dietaryguidelines.gov/sites/default/files/2021-03/Dietary_Guidelines_for_Americans-2020-2025.pdf
The tables built into this release are transcribed from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025. That is the most recent edition that publishes them: the 2025-2030 edition is a short policy document and contains no appendices, so it carries none of the calorie, macronutrient or reference-intake tables the App reads. Guidance is revised over time, later editions may differ, and we do not undertake to update the App when they do.
We cite these sources because we bound the App by them. Citing them does not mean that any agency has reviewed, approved, endorsed or is associated with this App, and none has.
8. Nutrition Data and Its Source
Nutrition figures in the App come from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s FoodData Central — the Foundation Foods, SR Legacy and Survey Foods (FNDDS) data sets — compiled into the App. Those data sets are works of the United States government and are not subject to copyright in the United States under 17 U.S.C. § 105. The manufacturer-submitted Branded Foods data set is not used, and we have removed the entries we found that are named after a brand or restaurant.
We credit the USDA as the source of the data. Neither the USDA nor any other United States government agency named in these Terms endorses, sponsors, approves or has any involvement with this App or with D2X Enterprises LLC, and nothing in the App should be read as suggesting that it does.
FOOD NAMES IN OTHER LANGUAGES ARE OUR TRANSLATIONS. The USDA publishes its data in English. When the App is set to another language, each catalogue food’s name is shown in that language, with the USDA’s original English name beneath it. We made those translations with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, and each language was then checked by a second AI review. No professional translator, dietitian or food scientist prepared or checked them. A translated name may be imprecise or wrong, and it can lose a detail the English name gives, such as raw or cooked, a cut, a preparation or an added ingredient. THE USDA’S ENGLISH NAME IS THE AUTHORITATIVE ONE: the figures belong to the food it describes, so where the two seem to differ, go by the English. The USDA did not produce, review or endorse any translation. Only names are translated. Every figure is the USDA’s published figure in every language; the App only writes numbers the way your language does (for example, with a decimal comma). The foods are ones described in United States data, and a food with the same name where you live may be grown, made or prepared differently and have different nutrition. Foods you create keep the names you type, and backups and CSV exports record the USDA’s English name.
THESE ARE THIRD-PARTY FIGURES, PROVIDED AS PUBLISHED. We compile the USDA’s data into the App; we do not produce it, we do not laboratory-test anything, and we do not independently verify, correct or update any value in it. It may contain errors, omissions, gaps and out-of-date entries, and it may be revised or withdrawn at source without our knowing. We give no warranty of its accuracy, completeness or currency, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for an inaccuracy in it. If a figure matters to you, check it against the food’s own labelling or with a professional.
FIGURES THE APP WORKS OUT FROM THE PUBLISHED DATA. To make the USDA’s figures easier to read, the App also shows some figures calculated from them. These calculations never change a published value:
- Amounts. The data gives each food per 100 grams. When you enter an amount in grams, every figure is scaled from its per-100-gram value and rounded.
- Share of energy. The App shows how a food’s energy divides between protein, carbohydrate and fat, by applying to the published grams the general factors of 4, 4 and 9 Calories per gram described in the FDA’s nutrition labelling rule, 21 CFR 101.9(c)(1)(i)(B). That is one general method; the published Calories may have been calculated differently, so the two need not agree exactly. Percentages are rounded to whole numbers.
- Other sources. Where protein, carbohydrate and fat account for at least 10% less energy than the food’s published Calories, and the food has at least 10 Calories per 100 grams, the remainder is shown as a percentage from sources other than protein, carbs and fat. The App does not identify that source.
These are arithmetic on the figures, not new measurements. They are no more accurate than the figures they come from, and everything in this section about those figures applies to them equally. The same calculations are applied to foods you create, using the values you typed.
The figures describe generic, laboratory-analysed or survey-described foods, per 100 grams. The item actually in front of you may differ substantially depending on its variety, cut, ripeness, preparation, cooking method, added fat or salt, and the accuracy of the serving size you enter. Foods you create yourself contain whatever values you type, and a logged item keeps the figures it had when you logged it. The data set contains NO ALLERGEN, ingredient or suitability information, and a food’s name, in English or translated, is not a list of what it contains: never rely on this App to decide whether a food is safe for an allergy, an intolerance, a religious or ethical requirement, or a medically restricted diet. Check the actual product’s own labelling.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY. We disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that any figure it displays is accurate or appropriate for you, that a reminder will be delivered at any particular time or at all, or that using the App will produce any particular health, weight or body-composition result.
NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS. We do not promise, and nothing in the App or in any description of it should be read as promising, that you will lose or gain weight, change your body composition, improve any measure of your health or fitness, reach any target, or obtain any other outcome. We do not represent that any target, split or figure the App displays or pre-fills is appropriate, safe, adequate or effective FOR YOU — the App knows only what you typed into it, and only a qualified professional who has assessed you can say that. Any result depends on factors outside the App and outside our control, including what you actually eat, your health, and how accurately you record anything.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. See Section 13.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 WHAT IS NOT LIMITED. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; our gross negligence or wilful misconduct; or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This paragraph prevails over the rest of this section and over any other part of these Terms that conflicts with it.
10.2 Subject to 10.1, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or any health, weight or body-composition outcome, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10.3 Subject to 10.1, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50).
10.4 Subject to 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 apply to every legal theory — contract, warranty, tort (including negligence), strict liability, statute or otherwise — and apply even if a limited remedy in these Terms is found to have failed of its essential purpose. They do not apply to the extent that the law governing your relationship with us does not allow them; where a limitation in this section is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, it applies to the maximum extent that jurisdiction does allow rather than being struck out (Section 12), and your mandatory rights under Section 13 are unaffected. The exclusions and limits in this section are a reasonable allocation of risk for a one-time purchase at this price, and the price reflects them.
11. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, and except where prohibited for consumers under the law of your country, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless D2X Enterprises LLC and its officers, members, employees and agents against claims, damages, losses, liabilities and reasonable expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the App, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or of a third party’s rights.
12. Severability — Reformation, Not Deletion
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable in whole or in part in your jurisdiction, that provision will be read down and applied to the maximum extent enforceable there rather than struck out, and the remainder of these Terms remains in full force.
13. Your Mandatory Local Rights
Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have that cannot be taken away by agreement.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection law, you keep every right that law gives you — including legal guarantees of conformity for digital content, statutory remedies for defective digital content, statutory rights of withdrawal or cancellation, and the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence under your own law. Where those rights conflict with anything in these Terms, those rights win, and these Terms apply only so far as they lawfully can alongside them. This applies equally to any other non-waivable statutory right, wherever you live.
14. Third-Party Services
The App is distributed through third-party app stores and uses third-party purchase infrastructure (see the Privacy Policy). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, which we do not control. The app stores are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you; the store, not us, is responsible for the store’s own services.
15. Survival
Sections 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17, and any other provision that by its nature should survive, survive termination of these Terms.
16. Governing Law and Forum
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Section 13, any dispute arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction and venue. There is no arbitration requirement in these Terms. Nothing here limits your right to bring a qualifying claim in a small-claims court.
17. Changes, Translations and Entire Agreement
We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected in the Effective date above and, where appropriate, notified in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, subject to your mandatory rights.
If we provide these Terms in another language, that translation is for convenience and the English version governs to the extent of any conflict.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the App.
