D2X Macro Calculator & Meal Planner

A macro calculator that shows its work. You choose your own daily calories and your own macro percentages; the app cites every reference figure to the US federal publication it came from, searches 12,000+ USDA foods offline, and keeps the whole log on your own phone. Available now on the App Store and Google Play, for phones and tablets.

Every Number Is Sourced

Calorie estimates come from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020–2025, Appendix 2. The macronutrient ranges and the protein and carbohydrate reference amounts come from Appendix 1. The lowest daily total the app will save comes from the NIH's National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. Each source is printed on screen beside the number it produced, not buried in a settings page.

You Set The Target

The app suggests no macro split, because no US government source publishes one — federal guidance gives a range for each macronutrient rather than a single figure. You enter your own percentages; the app works out what they mean in grams and says plainly when a result falls outside those ranges or under a reference intake. It asks for sex, age and activity level, and nothing else. Not your height, not your weight.

12,000+ Foods, None Locked

The catalogue is USDA FoodData Central — Foundation Foods, SR Legacy, and the survey database that describes food as people actually eat it. It ships inside the app, so search works with no signal at all. Every food carries every one of its numbers at every tier; no food is ever behind the purchase.

Your Log Stays Yours

There is no account and no sign-in. Your profile, your food log — the days you have lived and the days you have planned — and any foods you create are stored on your own phone, and the app never uploads any of it. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. The app's only outbound connection is to our purchase provider, RevenueCat, at launch, asking whether the unlock is owned and what it costs; that check carries no part of your profile or your log. If your phone's own iCloud or Google backup is on, it may include the app's data; we never receive it.

Because nothing sits on a server, deleting the app deletes your history — so backing the whole log up as a JSON file, and restoring it on any device, is free in both directions and always will be. Charging to get your own record off your own phone is the one thing this app will not do. Reading back any day you have ever logged, however old, is free too.

The app ships in twelve languages, Arabic included, and lays out right-to-left properly rather than as an afterthought.

Eat Sensibly

This is an informational tool, not medical or nutritional advice, and it is for adults. The federal figures it shows are general adult references worked out at a reference height and weight rather than yours: they describe a group, not a person. They do not apply to children, and the calorie estimates explicitly exclude pregnancy and breastfeeding, when needs are higher rather than lower. The app has no field for either, nor for any medical condition. It will not save a daily target below the lowest figure US federal guidance supports, but that is a guardrail against its own arithmetic — not a finding that any target is safe for you. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before changing your diet in a way that matters, and if food or your weight is causing you distress, please speak to someone about it.
